Our leaders embody the values of constitutionalism and social justice, and their collective experience is instrumental in guiding the CF's work.

YASMIN SOOKA
Yasmin Sooka is Chair of the Commission on Human Rights for South Sudan, established by the United Nations Human Rights Council. She is an internationally recognised human rights lawyer and activist specialising in Transitional Justice, gender rights, and international war crimes. She has been appointed to various high-profile roles, including the UN Secretary-General’s Independent Review Panel on allegations of sexual abuse by foreign military forces in the Central African Republic and the Advisory Panel on the review of UN Resolution 1325. Sooka was also the inaugural George Soros Visiting Chair at the School for Public Policy at Central European University in Budapest.
ALICE L. BROWN
Alice L. Brown heads Sojourner, Tubman, Wells & Co. Consulting, where she advises on philanthropic giving, organisational governance, and public interest law. She is a trained attorney with vast experience in social justice philanthropy and civil rights litigation. Alice had a distinguished career at the Ford Foundation, where she held various leadership roles and was the Foundation’s Representative in the Office for Southern Africa. She currently serves as Board Chair at Section27, is a trustee for the Nelson Mandela Foundation and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
RICHARD 'BRICKS' MOKOLO
Richard "Bricks" Mokolo is a paralegal and activist dedicated to promoting access to justice in Orange Farm and surrounding areas. He is the chairperson of the Association of Gauteng Advice Offices and serves on the National Council of the Association of Community Advice Office. Bricks is involved in various social movements across South Africa that seek to address issues related to housing and evictions, labour, land claims, domestic violence, racism and xenophobia.

Yvonne Mokgoro
Yvonne Mokgoro was the first Chair of the Constitutionalism Fund and a former justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa. Her leadership and contributions to the legal and constitutional framework of the country continue to inspire us. In addition to other numerous influential positions, Mokgoro was also the chairperson of the South African Law Reform Commission, the Board Chair of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund and served on the United Nations Human Rights Council’s International Independent Expert Mechanism to Advance Racial Justice and Equality. She passed away in May 2024.
Aubrey Matshiqi
Aubrey Matshiqi is a renowned political analyst who has focused on South African politics, electoral system reform, and the state of democracy in the country. His expertise continues to shape political discourse and governance reforms. He was a research fellow at the Helen Suzman Foundation and at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Studies, where he researched historical and collective memory in post-apartheid South Africa.
Nazmeera Moola
Nazmeera Moola is the Chief Sustainability Officer at Ninety One. In this role, she oversees the firm’s sustainability initiatives, including commercial imperatives, investment integration, and advocacy work. She has worked extensively in macroeconomics, financial markets, and development initiatives across Africa. She has also been involved in infrastructure projects through the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, which provides debt financing for infrastructure projects across Africa.
